Update Week 22 (April 9, 2014)

Finally I got to share the big news that I've been hiding since last Monday. Baby #3 is going to be a boy! We were all surprised, since somehow we both expected another girl. But we're certainly excited to add a little bit of blue to our world of pink, even though I could totally see Missy Violet raising her little brother with ribbons in his hair  :-)

This week's stats:

How far along? 22 weeks

Source
Baby's size:  About the size of a pomegranate

Total weight gain:  About 12 lbs.; the plateau seems to be over..

Maternity clothes? I thought about wearing my black maternity dress on Tuesday, but luckily rather went with my jeans as the weather wasn't quite as nice as on Monday.

Stretch marks? None.

Sleep: A little restless during the last few days, but it's getting better again.

Best moment this week: Another peak at the baby and the confirmation that the girls will have a little BROTHER!!

Miss anything? Wine.. Do I start to sound like an alcoholic?

Movement: Plenty. Not so much in the morning, that's when baby usually sleeps, but I get the first nudges sometime after lunch. He's most active in the evenings though.

Food cravings: none actually.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing. I'm feeling very normal.

Gender: Boy!!!!

Labor signs: None. Hope it stays that way for another 15 weeks or so!

Symptoms: Fatigue is getting better, luckily!

Belly button in or out? In!

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or moody most of the time: Actually, I'm in a pretty good mood most of the time. Feeling stressed occasionally, but I hope the vacation will help with that.

Looking forward to: Getting started painting the walls in the new house. Nervous but excited!

Girl or Boy??

It's that time. If baby cooperates, we hope to find out on Monday whether we're having a little girl or boy growing in there. If you want to tip either way, here's your chance!

Update Week 21 (April 2, 2014)

This last week was so busy; to the point that I ended up at the pregnancy emergency clinic with symptoms linked with HELLP-syndrome. It was scary. Monday, I suddenly lost partial vision in my right eye, which resolved within about an hour. When I woke up the next morning, my ears felt as if they were filled with water, my head was swimming and I could barely walk straight. Again, I accredited it to low blood sugar and maybe some minor dehydration and went to work. However, when the symptoms didn't get better, I went to see my doctor who gave me an immediate referral to the pregnancy emergency clinic. The midwives and doctors were all so nice there, kept me well hydrated and made sure I'm as comfortable as could be. Thankfully, all test results came back negative, so HELLP-syndrome was clearly ruled out and baby is doing fine as well. I was recommended rest, and to see a otorhinolaryngologist. The symptoms are most likely to be accredited to stress, but that condition is hard to cure right now. Hoping for my colleague to be fit again next week!

This week's stats:

How far along? 21 weeks

Total weight gain:  About 10lbs so far. I was surprised!

Maternity clothes? Since I retired most of my work pants for now, I'm still fine in my regular jeans and sweaters. So none quite yet..

Stretch marks? None.

Sleep: Still weird dreams, sometimes restless, but I think it might be getting better..

Best moment this week: Seeing our little baby and beign assured that everything's fine with the little one. There couldn't have been any better news!

Miss anything? My glass of wine after a really, really stressful day. I make do with hot chocolate for now.

Movement: Yes. I'm still getting nervous when I don't feel baby move for half a day, but usually the little one makes up for his sleepiness in the second half of the day  :-)

Food cravings: nothing at the moment..

Anything making you queasy or sick: No, I feel perfectly fine stomach-wise. I have the general munchies every once in a while, but that's about it.

Gender: I think I've gotten a sneak peak earlier this week, but want to wait for the organ scan on Monday.

Labor signs: None.

Symptoms: More fatigue these days, and a little bit of back pain every once in a while.

Belly button in or out? In where it belings  :-)

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or moody most of the time: Generally stressed I'd say..

Looking forward to: Violet's birthday party this weekend and Lily's musical performance.
