Update Week 20 (March 26, 2014)

I can't believe it's our half-way point. The first part of this pregnancy just rushed by. I am feeling pretty relaxed and confident now, especially since our little one keeps assuring us every day that everything's fine by kicks and punches and somersaults. At this point, I think that this baby will be the calmest of all of them, at least while still being cooped up in my tummy. With two daughters so different in temperament and character, we can't wait to meet this little person and get to know her / him!

This week's stats:

How far along? 20 weeks

Baby's size:  About the size of a banana

Source

Total weight gain:  With all the stress going on at work, I don't think that I've gained too much more, but we'll find out for sure in a little over a week.

Maternity clothes? Still pushing through with only my belly band, but Lily already commented that I should be wearing this dress I got sometime soon. My jeans still button perfectly though.

Stretch marks? None.

Sleep: Sometimes restless, sometimes weird dreams, sometimes restful, it's a gambling game every night I go to sleep  :-)

Best moment this week: Violet blowing raspberries on my tummy, giggling like crazy. Baby better knows the siblings s/he's going to have  :-)

Miss anything? Definitely my wine. But I can do without for the next decade or so  :-)

Movement: Yes! So glad to know every day that baby's doing fine. The little one is sleeping most mornings and I feel the first kicks around lunchtime. At the moment, baby is most active in the evenings, but seems to be asleep again by bed-time. Is it possible I'm finally blessed with a good sleeper?

Food cravings: nothing really actually.

Anything making you queasy or sick:No, feeling pretty normal in that respect.

Gender: If baby allows, we'll find out on April 7, our 8-year wedding anniversary.

Labor signs: None.

Symptoms: Nothing that would ruin my days. But I thgink I'll have to buy even larger bras soon!

Belly button in or out? In. Never hat an outie so far!

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or moody most of the time: Feeling pretty content and happy right now!

Looking forward to: Finally finding out if we have a girl or boy in there. Most people around me have found out by now, and it seems to be a boy-heavy year. With 4-1 right now. Looking forward to find out which side to join  :-)

Update Week 19 (March 19, 2014)

I just noticed that I start my 19th week on the 19th day of the month. I can't believe that this pregnancy is almost halfway over, time just flies. Already I wonder whether I'll manage to actually get my pregnancy massage in before this little one makes an appearance. The next weeks will just be so busy with organizing the final steps of finishing up our house, then doing our part painting walls and putting down floors, moving at some point, and some time in there, we'll take a trip to the States. Before we know it, this baby will be here, and I wonder whether I will actually be able to really relax and enjoy this pregnancy at some time, instead of being the practical person all the time who runs around, does her stuff, and once the day is over falls into bed, waiting for the same day to start over again a few hours later...

This week's stats:

How far along? 19 weeks

Baby's size:  About the size of a mango

Total weight gain: Since I don't check my weight in between appointments, I don't know. Last week, I was about 8 or 9 pounds up from my regular weight.

Maternity clothes? I unpacked my belly band today, after shamelessly riding home on the bus with my pants unbuttoned. The jeans still fit, but I think I will have to get at least a pair of maternity pants for work..

Stretch marks? None.

Sleep: Like dead, if there weren't the dreams. They are so real sometimes. Not bad dreams, but pretty confusing.

Best moment this week: Cuddling on the couch with the girls rubbing my tummy and talking to the baby. They are so excited about their new sibling!

Miss anything? A glass of wine after a hard day, but I'm actually doing fine..

Movement: Yes! Not much longer until hubby and the girls can feel the movement, too! Baby had some hick-ups at work today, a great way to remind me to take a break every once in a while!

Food cravings: mini spring rolls this afternoon.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.

Gender: We don't know yet, but hopefully finding out in a few weeks!

Labor signs: None.

Symptoms: Boobs are sore, tummy is growing, and a little tweaking in my back every once in a while. Everything's normal I guess  :-)

Belly button in or out? Innie!

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or moody most of the time: I had a really, really bad day on Sunay, when absolutely nothing could make me happy and I was just the moodiest mess I can imagine. Luckily, that's over and I'm somewhat myself again..

Looking forward to: Seeing the girls' eyes once they feel the baby move for the first time. Not too much longer!

Update Week 18 (March 12, 2014)

Work is busy these days, and I can feel the exhaustion. Running is not that much fun either if the calf muscles are tightening up almost as soon as I start running, but I will stay active. No need to get all lazy again after working so hard to get in shape again. The half-marathon is definitely on the schedule for 2015, 2016 at the latest.

This week's stats:

How far along? 18 weeks

Baby's size:  about a sweet potato
Source

Total weight gain: Surprisingly I even "lost" a pound compared to my last weigh-in a month ago. It seems, I've arrived at the "plateau" stage of my weight gain  :-)

Maternity clothes? still none. I hope to be buying a couple of maxi dresses soon that take me over the summer, but since real maternity clothes look funny on me anyways, I'd rather just buy regular clothes.

Stretch marks? None.

Sleep: Pretty good these days. Still funny dreams, but not as much any more.

Best moment this week: Hearing the heart beat again. Baby tried to hide from the doppler again, these seconds of silence when the doppler hits my tummie until there's finally the relieving heartbeat, I hate them!

Miss anything? Still the glass of red after a stressful day. Right now, bitter lemon has to do...

Movement: The other night, baby actually woke me up when s/he huddled up in my tummy. The best feeling ever!

Food cravings: Nothing.

Anything making you queasy or sick: No.

Gender: My friend asked me if I've found out yet that our baby is a boy. No, we haven't, but we'll hopefully find out if baby is a girl or a boy on our wedding anniversary!!

Labor signs: None.

Symptoms: Large boobs, and the tummy's growing of course. Besides those, not much actually.

Belly button in or out? I never had an outie!

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or moody most of the time: Pretty relaxed actually these days.

Looking forward to:  our next ultrasound!

Update Week 17 (March 5, 2014)

And again we have managed to complete another week. I think to remember that at this point during my pregnancy with Violet I was wearing my super-comfy maternity jeans already. I am looking around more these days, but simply can't find anything that looks comfortable. Can't stand full-panel maternity wear, I think this summer will be dominated by stretchy skirts and maxi dresses.
This week's stats:

How far along? 17 weeks

Baby's size: about the size of an onion

Source

Total weight gain: We have another appointment on Monday, so I'll find out how many pounds I have pigged on..

Maternity clothes? My work pants are getting snug, but my jeans still fit well, so I think that maternity clothes are still a while away..

Stretch marks? None.

Sleep: The weird dreams are back full force. I usually don't dream consciously, but in the past weeks, I literally dream vividly every night, and remember most dreams!

Best moment this week: Feeling more of the baby. During the last days, I feel the little one moving several times a day..

Miss anything? A glass of wine after a hard day!

Movement: Yes, more and more right now! I wonder if this baby will be as active as Lily and Violet were..

Food cravings: Nothing really this week..

Anything making you queasy or sick: No.

Gender: I get a lot of "boy"-voices. We'll find out in a few weeks hopefully..

Labor signs: None.

Symptoms: The boobs are ever growing, I have weird dreams, and the tummy is growing as well. Add mommy brain and sometimes mood swings.

Belly button in or out? I never had an outie!

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or moody most of the time: The move at work stressed me this week, but nothing some chocolate couldn't cure..

Looking forward to:  hearing in on the baby again on Monday.

Update Week 16 (February 26, 2014)

It is done, I have crossed into another decade of my life. This baby is going to be 30 years younger than me. There are 6 years between our first and our third child. This sounds so long, but passed in a blink of an eye. And this scares me already, because I know that before I know it, all of our children will be heading off to live their own lives.

This week's updates:

How far along? 16 weeks

Baby's size: about the size of an avocado
Souce

Total weight gain: I haven't been doing well food-ways these days, so I think I won't be happy on the scales during my next appointment. Last time I checked, I was up about 8 lbs.

Maternity clothes? Not yet. But I bought a very cute dress for summer, and am totally excited to wear it!

Stretch marks? None.

Sleep: Still weird dreams, but it's getting better...

Best moment this week: Turning 30.

Miss anything? Not right now..

Movement: Yes, for about two weeks now

Food cravings: Fresh salad. Not quite the season for it, but it works..

Anything making you queasy or sick: No.

Gender: Should find out in about 4 to 8 weeks!

Labor signs: None.

Symptoms: my bras are officially too small now!

Belly button in or out? So in  :-)

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or moody most of the time: I'm pretty stressed right now, and do feel the beginnings of anxiety attacks coming on again. But this shall pass as well, I hope certain situations are being figured out quickly!

Looking forward to:  the weekend, as usual  :-)
